Student Conservation of Cultural Property (MA), Sorbonne University, Paris, France
After my studies in Medieval History I choose to study Conservation in order to get a closer contact to our tangible heritage, the archaeological remains of days past. During my training I study and practice both theoretical as well as hands-on practical archaeological conservation through a series of different internships. Because of the diversity of institutions and their collections I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of materials and several case studies. During my three month stay at SVK I will primarly work with waterlogged archaeological material where I will focus on composite artefacts. My time at SVK, together with my previous experience at the Centre de Conservation du Quebec in Canada, will provide me with the required experience for my Thesis about the possibility of an oxygen-free storage for treated archaeological composites.
