My 3-month-internship at SVK was my second internship during my training in paper conservation. I worked mainly on maps and prints. The most exciting and challenging piece of work was a large-scale, late 1800’s poster, which had to be washed and lined. At SVK I practised a lot of conservation methods already familiar to me and I also had the opportunity to learn new ways of e.g. bleaching and lining among other things. I was instructed very well during working but I was also given the chance to find my own ways in practical working, which gave me a lot of confidence as a paper conservator. I enjoyed working at SVK a lot, the atmosphere there was extremely warm and welcoming.
