Unique experiences in West Sweden
Västarvet's six cultural attractions are spread throughout the whole of Västra Götaland. All of them offer shopping opportunities with a unique and exciting range linked to the natural and cultural heritage in the local environment. There are also restaurants or cafés at most of the sites where you can reserve in advance. Otherwise we can give you some suggestions for nice places to eat nearby.

Forsviks Bruk is about 10 kilometres from Karlsborg. It offers 600 years of industrial history in a beautiful setting by the water. There is a works railway, a smithy, a foundry and an exhibition entitled Women's stories.
Gothenburg Museum of Natural History
You will meet animals from all corners of the earth at the Gothenburg Museum of Natural History. Don't miss the world's largest blue whale on display, the African elephant and the other stuffed celebrities in the exhibition halls.
Lödöse was one of Sweden's largest medieval towns and Gothenburg's predecessor. The museum houses an exciting selection from some 500,000 medieval findings from the archaeological excavations in Lödöse.
Crafts & Building Care
Crafts & Building Care at Nääs Slott is a meeting place with exhibitions, a specialist library, courses, shops and free advice for those with an interest in crafts and building history, handicrafts and durable materials.
Vitlycke Museum is a knowledge and experience centre in the heart of the Tanum World Heritage Site, an area with almost 500 rock carvings.
This attraction can be described as a British Museum in miniature. Vänersborg Museum has Sweden's oldest museum rooms with Egyptian mummies, African birds and Chinese porcelain.
